Over 60s Canada Cup 2023

August 20 - 25, 2023

The Australian tour of Canada was a great success in a number of ways.

We were given the warmest of welcomes from the Canadians on & off the field.

Nothing was too much trouble for them to make our tour a great experience.

All goes well for future tours as they become available & highly recommended, and we continue to support them.

We gave all our squad an even go over the two weeks.

I feel that our whole squad was happy with the environment & opportunities they were given.

Having won 6/6 games with every member of our squad contributing over the two weeks.

Having seen Canada in the 2023 World Cup they have improved & are on a good growth path.

USA are a bit behind but trying hard & congratulations must go to them for their efforts.

England was strong as usual & a great team effort from all the Aussie boys saw us get the win comfortably.

Unfortunately, with rain on eve of the final against England in final saw the council workers tip water from covers all over the wickets to ruin the day for all.

Both captains & teams deemed it not playable.

Very unfortunate for the Canadian people that worked extremely hard to put the event on.

Thanks goes to Michael van Zyden our team manager who did a fantastic job for our squad, & the whole squad voted him the Anne Harrison Award winner.

We had such a good squad I wouldn’t like to individualise as everyone played their part on & off the field.

Thank you to the ladies who came along for their great support throughout the two weeks.

Thanks again to the Australian committee’s hard work for the fact that we have veterans' cricket & people like us get to play, travel, & meet new lifelong friends around the world.
